Vikings running back Adrian Peterson on Tuesday offered a suggestion for curbing some of the recent injuries plaguing the NFL:
Cut the preseason to three games.
Peterson hasn't had a carry in an exhibition game since 2011, and won't get one this preseason. Still, he is thinking about players who have suffered season-ending injuries this month, a list that includes Vikings tackle Phil Loadholt (torn Achilles) and Green Bay wide receiver Jordy Nelson (torn ACL).
"Guys go down and things aren't guaranteed with what their situation is. It's rough," Peterson said. "So I think it's something to sit back and think about.
