Adrian Peterson hasn't won a rushing title since 2012. He figures it's time for another.
The Vikings running back has reclaimed the NFL lead with 758 yards at the midpoint of the season. He's trying to win his third rushing title. He also won in 2008, his second year as a pro.
"(Another one) would mean a lot," Peterson said Thursday. "I play this game to be the best, and of course leading the league in rushing and finishing the season that way kind of helps put a stamp on that."
Peterson, 30, is trying to become the eighth player to win three or more rushing titles and the second-oldest champion.
