Vikings: Adrian Peterson 'fine' but will miss practice

MANKATO, Minn. -- Adrian Peterson did not participate in Wednesday morning's walkthrough because of a minor thigh bruise, but offensive coordinator Norv Turner said afterward the Vikings running back is "fine."

Peterson, who left practice early Tuesday, was on the field during the walkthrough and in good spirits. Turner said he did not expect Peterson would participate in Wednesday afternoon's practice.

Peterson left midway through Tuesday's practice after he went down on a run and a defender's helmet hit his thigh. It was soon determined, though, the injury was not serious.

Peterson, who missed the final 15 games last season because of a child-abuse incident, is not expected to play during the preseason but start the Sept.
