Adrian Peterson's first extended public appearance since a child-abuse incident surfaced last September could be next month in his hometown of Palestine, Texas.
Adrian Peterson Day is set for June 13 in Palestine. Kenneth Abrams, a family friend, told the Pioneer Press on Tuesday that Peterson is expected to attend the event that has been held annually since 2007.
"Adrian will be there, that's the plan," Abrams said. "It will be business as usual. We're a small town (of about 18,000) and everybody supports him, but I think it will be bigger this year."
Unhappy because he doesn't believe the Vikings did enough last fall to get him back on the field, Peterson did not attend the first day of Vikings organized team activities.
