Ladies and gentlemen, our long, dark, long-snapping nightmare is over.
On Saturday, the Minnesota Vikings announced that they have activated long snapper Austin Cutting from the reserve/COVID-19 list, meaning that they will not have to bring in an emergency long snapper for Monday night’s game against the Chicago Bears.
Cutting was added to the list earlier this week, but it was not because he had tested positive for the virus himself. He had merely been in close contact with someone that had tested positive. As a result, after having five consecutive days of negative tests, he was allowed to be activated and start practicing with the team again.
