The Vikings are ready for prime time.
Well, not completely.
It was announced Wednesday night the Vikings will open the regular season at San Francisco on Sept. 14 on ESPN's Monday Night Football. But it will be the second game of the night, and won't start until 9:20 p.m. CDT.
It marks the seventh time in eight years Minnesota will open on the road. The home opener at TCF Bank Stadium will be Sept. 20 at Detroit.
Meanwhile, the Vikings could finish the regular season in a deep freeze. They will play three home games in December in their second of two seasons playing outdoors before they move into a new indoor stadium in 2016.
