The Minnesota Vikings’ CB room seemed thin coming into training camp with Khyree Jackson’s tragic passing. The 4th round pick was expected to play a significant role in his rookie season. Then Mekhi Blackmon went down in the first practice with an ACL. It seemed like the CB room was going to be an issue all year.
However, the Vikings signed Stephon Gilmore this week. That likely puts Byron Murphy in the Nickelback role. It might just make the position a strength for the Vikings? Considering the Vikings play Nickel more than they play base defense, like most of the NFL, I like that lineup.
