Mike Zimmer has been known to surprise opposing quarterbacks.
A decision he made regarding his own quarterback surprised several folks on Friday in Seattle.
Zimmer started 15-season veteran Shaun Hill instead of third-year pro and undisputed starter Teddy Bridgewater in the second preseason game of both teams.
Zimmer told Greg Coleman during a simulcast on FOX 9 and KFAN 100.3-FM that it was his decision to start Hill, who finished 10-of-17 passing for 129 yards.
Hill led the Vikings on an eight-play, 77-yard touchdown drive capped with a 2-yard run by Jerick McKinnon, who started in place of Adrian Peterson.
