Increased Elevators, Escalators Allow For Easy Navigation at U.S. Bank Stadium
Although it has a noticeably larger footprint, U.S. Bank Stadium is being built on the site of the old Metrodome. Even though the seating capacity of both buildings is relatively similar, U.S. Bank Stadium is twice the square footage of the Metrodome, meaning the old stadium would fit inside U.S. Bank Stadium without touching the new structure. The size difference is a result of the increased fan amenities that allow for a greatly improved game day experience. Those amenities include much larger concourses – up to twice as wide as those at the dome – to go along with more options for navigating the building like elevators and escalators.
