When the Minnesota Vikings were fortunate enough to have offensive tackle T.J. Clemmings fall to them in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, the thought process was that he had a lot of raw talent, but that he was a project that was going to take some molding.
Thanks to the season-ending Achilles injury suffered by Phil Loadholt on Saturday, that project now has a greatly accelerated date of expected completion.
The team confirmed that Clemmings is going to get the first opportunity to replace Loadholt at right tackle when the team resumes practice on Monday.
