Three former Minnesota Vikings named Hall of Fame finalists

Yesterday, NFL.com released the list of players who were named finalists for the 2016 Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2016. Included on that list were hree players who at one time were a part of the Minnesota Vikings franchise.

Last year, the Vikings had long time center and gritty offensive lineman Mick Tingelhoff inducted as a part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2015 and it appears as though 2016’s group has a solid chance at having representatives who used to wear purple jerseys.

Here are the three individuals who played for the Minnesota Vikings who are up for the honors:

Morten Andersen

  • Andersen was only part of the Minnesota Vikings during the 2004 NFL season, but he connected on 18 of his 22 field goals and made all 45 extra points for Minnesota.
