Make no mistake: the Chicago Bears have some high-end talent on their roster. On par with the Vikings’ depth chart? Let’s not get carried away, but there’s talent present.
Recently, Ryan Poles made the somewhat befuddling decision to bring aboard Montez Sweat via trade with the Washington Commanders. Doing so gives Chicago a low-end EDGE1. Partnering the pass rusher with T.J. Edwards, Tremaine Edmunds, and Jaylon Johnson means there are building blocks present for the Bears’ defense. And, of course, that’s not even accounting for Justin Fields, Cole Kmet, D.J. Moore, and the Chicago offense. The Windy City Hibernating Mammals shouldn’t be overlooked.
