The fortunes of a No. 11 NFL pick? Anything from washout to Hall-of-Famer

In February 1936, at the Philadelphia Ritz-Carlton, the Boston Redskins drafted Keith Topping with the 11th overall pick. Like most of the players chosen that year, he never played professionally, but he became the first of 78 players taken in that spot.

Unless Rick Spielman trades out the slot Thursday -- as he's been known to do -- the Vikings will make it 79. Whomever it is, they're very much hoping he plays.
