With running back Adrian Peterson hobbled Sunday and the defense shorthanded again, the Vikings needed another big game from quarterback Teddy Bridgewater if they were to beat the Chicago Bears and move closer to a playoff berth.
Bridgewater delivered, throwing a career-high four touchdown passes as the Vikings beat the Bears 38-17 at TCF Bank Stadium. Bridgewater added a rushing touchdown, too, in one of the best games of his young career. He was 17-for-20 for 231 yards and the game ended with the fans chanting “Teddy, Teddy.”
Peterson, meanwhile, missed a quarter of action after injuring his left ankle late in the second half and walking into the locker room for further examination.
