EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The Minnesota Vikings will be without both of their opening-day tackles when they face the Houston Texans on Sunday, and there's a good chance they'll be missing their top receiver, too.
The Vikings ruled out right tackle Andre Smith for Sunday's game against Houston with a triceps injury, and listed wide receiver Stefon Diggs as doubtful with the groin injury that has bothered him the last two weeks. Jeremiah Sirles will start in Smith's place at tackle. Coach Mike Zimmer didn't want to discuss what the Vikings would do if Diggs were out on Sunday, but if the team moved Adam Thielen into the flanker role, it could open up more opportunities for Jarius Wright, who's been inactive for three of the Vikings' four games this season.
