Sources: Aaron Rodgers plans to play vs. Vikings despite 'unusual' knee injury

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers plans to play Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings despite his knee injury, sources tell ESPN.

"He has a pretty unusual injury that would keep most people out awhile," one source told ESPN.

Rodgers was told this week that his injury could take up to a couple of months to heal, according to another source. The star quarterback is not thought to have any ligament damage, according to the source, who said the injury is more of a "compression injury from blunt force while bent."

The Packers want to work out Rodgers on Sunday before making the final decision to let him start.
