Former New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones officially cleared waivers on Monday and is now an unrestricted free agent, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Sources told ESPN that Jones prefers to sign with a playoff contender, and potential destinations include the Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings.
For a team to have plucked Jones off waivers, they would have had to claim the balance of his contract -- $11,833,333 for this season in addition to the $23 million in injury guarantees for after this season.
New York announced its intention to part ways with Jones on Friday, ending the 2019 first-round pick's stint with the Giants after five-plus seasons.
