It’s been quite some time since Sharrif Floyd last played in an NFL game. Not since Week 1 of the Minnesota Vikings’ 2016 season has Floyd suited up for a matchup.
The reasoning for his absence is rather unfortunate.
The defensive tackle underwent surgery to repair a knee injury in September 2016 and it resulted in him sustaining nerve damage in his quadriceps. Since then, Floyd has remained as a member of the Vikings.
That was until the new league year began on Wednesday and the NFL announced that his contract would not be tolled through the 2018 season.
