Berwald Roofing and Sheet Metal Co. plans to resume work Friday on the Minnesota Vikings' new stadium in Minneapolis, where an employee of the North St. Paul subcontractor died Aug. 26 after falling and sliding off the roof.
A second employee, who has not been publicly identified, also fell off U.S. Bank Stadium and struck a guardrail, which helped stop him. He was seriously injured.
The subcontractor was recently cleared to continue installing the stadium's roofing system, following a review of the roofing conditions in cooperation with Mortenson Construction and the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority, according to a Berwald Roofing statement issued Thursday.
