CANTON, Ohio -- When Ron Wolf arrived in Green Bay in 1991 as general manager, he quickly learned about the Vikings-Packers rivalry.
"I used to like to wear purple,'' Wolf said Friday. "I had purple shirts. I moved to Green Bay and suddenly I couldn't stand the color purple. That was because of our neighbors five hours to the west.''
Although Wolf had to change his wardrobe, there was one purple-clad player he never lost any respect for. That was Vikings center Mick Tingelhoff, who will be enshrined along with Wolf into the Pro Football Hall of Fame here Saturday night.
