When Mike Zimmer took over as the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings in 2014, he decided to bring in George Edwards to be his defensive coordinator. Since then, Edwards has maintained the same role with the Vikings during Zimmer’s entire tenure.
According to a recent report, however, Minnesota’s current defensive coordinator may be on his way out after this season.
Edwards’ contract with the Vikings is up at the end of the year and there’s a chance that he won’t be returning to the team in 2020 according to Sirius XM’s Alex Marvez on Wednesday.
