Vikings leading tackler Eric Kendricks exited Monday night's game against the Packers in the second quarter because of a quad injury. Kendricks was officially ruled out at the start of the third quarter, when the Vikings led 10-9.
Kendricks' breakout season had continued in the first half when he recovered two Packers fumbles, adding to the defense's takeaway party from last week's win in Los Angeles, where they stole the ball seven times from the Chargers.
Linebacker Eric Wilson stepped in for Kendricks, who remained on the sideline through the end of the first half. Wilson, the third-year linebacker, had already seen an increased role as the weakside starter for Ben Gedeon — placed on injured reserve earlier this season because of concussions.
