Prosecutor Slams Judge For Ending Peterson’s Probation Early

CONROE, Texas (AP) — A Texas chief prosecutor is criticizing the judge who ended Minnesota Vikings star Adrian Peterson’s probation in a child abuse case early.

Montgomery County District Attorney Brett Ligon said Thursday that the judge gave the appearance of being “enamored with an elite athlete.” The 2012 NFL most valuable player’s probation was reduced from two years to nine months already served without input from prosecutors.

Requirements for Peterson to complete a public service announcement about child abuse, check in monthly with a probation officer and complete mandatory drug testing were also waived.
