Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen is being evaluated and treated at a mental health facility, NFL sources confirmed, after a series of incidents on Saturday involving law enforcement and medical personnel.
Griffen, 30, was taken to a hospital after police in Minnetrista, where he lives, received calls of concern about his behavior from his wife at his home and from the nearby home of a teammate, authorities said.
The three-time Pro Bowl player was at the Hotel Ivy in downtown Minneapolis threatening to assault staff employees and lying on the lobby floor, according to a Minneapolis police incident report, at 1:30 p.
