In news that affects. . .well, just about nobody, to be honest. . .the National Football League has declared that, for the second year in a row, there will be no Supplemental Draft.
The Supplemental Draft is generally held to accommodate players that missed the filing deadline for the regular draft or, more frequently, had issues arise that affected their eligibility such as academic or disciplinary issues. It is up to the discretion of the league as to whether or not they have a Supplemental Draft each offseason, and this year they have decided against it.
The Minnesota Vikings have, historically, not worried about the Supplemental Draft, having only ever made one selection in the Supplemental Draft process.
