The 6-6, 315-pound Allen played his college ball at Alabama State and was signed as an undrafted free agent this May by the Washington Redskins. The Redskins released Allen in June.

Allen will reportedly be in for his work out on Tuesday. The Vikings are seeking more offensive line depth after losing starting RT Phil Loadholt to a season-ending Achilles tendon injury.

A report on Monday from ESPN’s Ed Werder said the Vikings had been planning on working out former Colts RT Gosder Cherilus before he was signed by Tampa Bay.
