There’s no denying the Minnesota Vikings have always seen potential in Karter Schult. The defensive end was invited to the team’s rookie minicamp before being poached by the Carolina Panthers for the preseason. Now, it appears he will return to wear purple and gold.
Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press has confirmed a report from NFL Draft Diamonds that the Vikings will be signing Schult following an impressive season in the AAF where he had nine sacks in and 23 solo tackles in eight weeks playing with the Salt Lake City Stallions.
Here is the tweet from Tomasson confirming the transaction:
Standing 6-foot-2 and weighing in at 240 pounds, Schult is a former University of Northern Iowa standout took some time learning from former NFL linebacker Bryce Paup and showcased those skills in the AAF, earning him another look from teams when the organization folded.
