Last week people joked about the way Mike Zimmer buttered up Philip Rivers with his talk about Rivers being one of the best QBs of all time.
This week Zimmer is the one being allegedly buttered and Peyton Manning is the one doing the alleged buttering.
Earlier this week Manning spoke about his respect for Zimmer and the defense that in Manning’s mind should bear Zimmer’s name (via Vikings.com):
“Coach Zimmer, I’ve got a lot of respect for him, played against him a lot and had some good dogfights with him at the places he’s been,” Manning said.
