I still believe the team is in good shape going forward from a cap perspective and from a talent perspective. Sure, there will be players that do not pan out but that happens all the time. The Vikings are in a position to weather most storms although acquiring new talent could be tricky.
The question is did the team make the right decision at QB? Clearly, they could have afforded to give Cousins the same deal he received with the Falcons. The offense was looking pretty good before he went down. With an improved defense, the team may have had a real shot the next two years with Cousins continuing to lead the offense.
