When John Sullivan was lost for the 2015 season with a back injury, the Minnesota Vikings had to turn to their backup to start. The Vikings had planned well for injury on the interior of the line, and had veteran guard/center Joe Berger ready to step in and attempt to fill Sullivan’s shoes.
Not only was Berger able to do an admirable job as a starter, but he made a lot of noise on statistic site Pro Football Focus. Although the former Michigan Technological University center wasn’t named to the Pro Bowl and was absent from the All-Pro teams, PFF recognized Berger and showered praise on him.
