After receiving the key to U.S. Bank Stadium on Friday morning, the Vikings wasted no time in getting a start on turning their new house into a home.
Beginning yesterday, art from more than 40 Minnesota artists – including three former Vikings players and one coach – began being installed throughout the new downtown stadium. In total, 350 original pieces of commissioned art and 250 pieces of framed photography will be on display when the building opens its doors for Vikings football on August 28.
Along with photographs and sculptures, work on two massive hand-painted murals on the walls of the stadium’s main concourse started this past weekend.
