Tonight, the night after the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, generally doesn’t have anything going on in the world of sports, so the folks from ESPN usually saves the ESPY Awards for it. Tonight is, indeed, the night, and the Minnesota Vikings got recognized for an award that everyone probably should have seen coming.
The “Minneapolis Miracle,” the play that boosted the Vikings into the 2017 NFC Championship Game, won the award for Best Moment.
The play had some pretty stiff competition, to be honest. They beat out the Vegas Golden Knights, who went to the Stanley Cup Finals in the NHL in their first year of existence.
