EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- A day after defensive end Everson Griffen missed the Minnesota Vikings' game with the Kansas City Chiefs because of illness, coach Mike Zimmer said the team didn't do anything wrong in how it announced Griffen's absence.
Zimmer said on Sunday he "knew about Everson around 9:30 or 10:00 [Central time], something like that." Pro Football Talk reported Sunday the NFL would look into the Vikings' injury reporting procedures, given the fact Griffen was not on the team's final injury report on Friday and his illness was not disclosed until the team announced he was inactive at 10:30 Central time.
