Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer is set to undergo eye surgery Wednesday night, which could force him to miss Thursday's game against the Dallas Cowboys.
"Mike Zimmer is having emergency eye surgery tonight," general manager Rick Spielman said in a statement on the team's official website. "His status for coaching tomorrow’s game is uncertain. I have met with the coaches and players and we have a contingency plan in place if Mike is unable to coach against Dallas."
The Vikings, who are set to host the 10-1 Cowboys on Thursday night, are hoping to improve on their 6-5 record.
