Lunchbreak: A Look at Guard Prospects in 2017 NFL Draft

After the Vikings signed two tackles – Riley Reiff and Mike Remmers – in free agency to help strengthen their offensive line, John Holler of Viking Update expects Minnesota to select at least one guard in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Holler referred to the guard position as a “clear and pressing need” and pointed out that the Vikings list only three players as guards on their current roster after releasing Brandon Fusco and Mike Harris. Currently, Minnesota’s guards are Alex Boone, Willie Beavers and Zac Kerin. Joe Berger started 11 games at center last season but opened the final three of 2016 at right or left guard.
