Latavius Murray's deal with Vikings: 4-figure seasons mean 7-figure bonuses

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Vikings' deal with running back Latavius Murray represents a change in the team's approach to paying running backs, as it begins the post-Adrian Peterson era with a more modest deal for a player that figures to be used less than Peterson was. But if Murray puts up the kinds of numbers his predecessor routinely posted in Minnesota, he can still be paid handsomely.

His three-year, $15 million deal with the Vikings includes some appealing incentives for net rushing yards, paying Murray $500,000 if he posts 900 yards each season with the Vikings and increasing by $250,000 at each 100-yard threshold after that.
