MINNEAPOLIS -- There's nothing in the Minnesota Vikings' history with Mike Zimmer that suggests they're afraid to play rookies who are ready to play right away. First-round picks Anthony Barr and Teddy Bridgewater started a combined 24 games in 2014, while Jerick McKinnon got six starts at running back. Last season, the Vikings started a second-rounder (Eric Kendricks), a fourth-rounder (T.J. Clemmings), a fifth-rounder (Stefon Diggs) and got regular work from third-rounder Danielle Hunter.
If Laquon Treadwell proves himself ready to claim the Vikings' starting split end job by Week 1, there'll be nothing holding him back.
