Joseph Wilf, father of Vikings owners, dies at 91

MANKATO, Minn. -- Joseph Wilf, the father of Minnesota Vikings owners Zygi and Mark Wilf, died Wednesday at his home in Hillside, New Jersey. He was 91.

The Vikings owners were scheduled to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the team's new practice facility in Eagan, Minnesota, on Tuesday, but left to be with their family before Joseph Wilf passed away. Their cousin Leonard Wilf, who is also part of the Vikings' ownership group, attended Tuesday's ceremony.

A Holocaust survivor who spent World War II in a Siberian labor camp, Joseph Wilf met his wife Suzie in the American occupied zone of Germany following the war.
