In the third quarter of the Minnesota Vikings’ 28-6 season-opening victory over the New York Giants on Sunday afternoon, wide receiver Jordan Addison was taken out of the game with what was called an ankle injury and did not return to the contest.
According to head coach Kevin O’Connell in his post-game press conference, the injury was not a re-aggravation of the high ankle sprain that Addison suffered during joint practices with the Cleveland Browns this summer. That was a high ankle sprain to his left ankle, while the injury that took him out of Sunday’s game with the Giants was to his right ankle.
