The Minnesota Vikings are embarrassed by their play in Monday’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers. In the 25 pre and regular season games played under head coach Mike Zimmer, the lifelessness and uninterested play shown in Week 1 was unprecedented.
“After watching the tape, it really wasn’t much different than what it looked like on the field,” Zimmer said during his weekly press conference. “It was a poor performance, disappointing, we did not play together as a team in most all phases and we’ve got a lot of soul-searching to get done.”
Usually during a game, one side of the ball plays better than the other.
