EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Safety Harrison Smith and Joe Berger have been ruled out for Sunday’s Vikings game against the Jaguars in Jacksonville.
Smith, who leads the Vikings with 97 tackles tallied by coaches, is dealing with an ankle injury. He first hurt the ankle on Nov. 20 against Arizona but played at Detroit on Thanksgiving and against Dallas on Dec. 1.
The Vikings have Anthony Harris and Jayron Kearse, who worked in a combination earlier this season while Andrew Sendejo was out at Chicago.
Berger was diagnosed with a concussion during the Vikings game at Detroit and ended his streak of consecutive games played at 88 when he was unable to return to action against the Cowboys.
