Back in Week 4 of the 2015 NFL season, the Minnesota Vikings were facing off against the Denver Broncos. Midway through the game’s second quarter, Broncos (and former Vikings) running back Ronnie Hillman broke free for a 72-yard touchdown run.
Seen chasing Hillman in the distance was Minnesota linebacker Gerald Hodges. That would end up being one of the lasting images Vikings fans would have of the linebacker in a purple uniform.
Following the team’s game against Denver, Minnesota sent Hodges packing to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for center Nick Easton and a sixth-round draft pick.
