For first time in team history, Vikings have stadium to pitch to free agents

MINNEAPOLIS -- Shortly after Cincinnati Bengals tackle Andre Smith landed in the Twin Cities for his free agent visit on Sunday night, the Minnesota Vikings feted him at Manny's Steahkouse in downtown Minneapolis. General manager Rick Spielman, offensive line coach Tony Sparano and assistant line coach Hank Fraley were all there -- as were defensive coordinator George Edwards and defensive backs coach Jerry Gray with new safety Michael Griffin -- as the Vikings tried to sell Smith on the reasons why he should sign with them.

The Manny's trip is a typical part of the Vikings' itinerary for visiting free agents.
