MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — If you happened to drive past the construction site for the forthcoming U.S. Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis, you may have had cause for alarm.
A plume of smoke could be seen late Friday morning at the site.
The construction firm working on project confirmed there had been fire, which workers extinguished immediately.
The workers were welding metal decks and sparks fell onto nearby insulation material, said a representative from Mortenson.
The representative said no one was injured in the incident and work continued immediately afterward.
