Minnesota Vikings’ defensive end Everson Griffen has gotten off to an outstanding start this season, and he was recognized for it on Thursday.
Griffen was named the NFC’s Defensive Player of the Month for the month of October. This is the second time that Griffen has received the honor, having also won it in October 2014. Surprisingly, he is only the second Vikings’ defensive end to win the award twice, according to the Vikings’ official website. Hall of Famer Chris Doleman is the other.
Six of Griffen’s ten sacks came during the month of October, and he also had two forced fumbles and 18 total tackles for the month.
