Edison High School Gets Donations For Practice Field Upgrades

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — It’s part sport, part science, and it’s making a difference on an area football fields and beyond.

The Minnesota Vikings, the Mississippi Watershed District and others have partnered to re-do the football field and other practice fields at Minneapolis Edison High School. They upgraded the football field by using technology to provide the source of water.

It’s teaching some lessons on creativity along the way.

“It means that we’re going to put water basins under our practice field and our parking lot and redo that. And then the rain water, the snow, the excess water from the field and that comes off our building here will drain down into our reservoir and we will actually recycle that water to irrigate our field,” Edison Athletic Director Brett McNeil said.
