Ed Donatell obviously spent the 2022 season with the Minnesota Vikings, but he is not the only Donatell that has been coaching at the NFL level. Donatell’s son, Tom, has been with the Los Angeles Chargers since 2021, spending each of the past two seasons as an assistant secondary coach.
Now, it appears that, while the elder Donatell is going to have to move on from his team, the younger Donatell is going to get a promotion within the Chargers organization. Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, he is going to be taking on two roles for Los Angeles this season: secondary coach and passing game coordinator.
