MINNEAPOLIS — The Vikings and Dolphins, as expected, rested their starters during Thursday’s preseason finale, a 30-9 victory by Miami.

Miami capitalized on two penalties on separate drives against Minnesota in the red zone with two touchdowns after the infractions.

The Dolphins scored on the opening possession of the game, capping a 10-play, 78-yard drive with a 1-yard run by Kenyan Drake. The short score occurred two plays after a 19-yard pass interference penalty against Tre Roberson, who was in at corner for Jabari Price.

David Fales replaced Brandon Doughty at quarterback for Miami in the first quarter and connected with Jakeem Grant for a 65-yard touchdown that put the Dolphins up 14-0 with 12:17 left in the second quarter.
