Going into the locker room at halftime at U.S. Bank Stadium, the Minnesota Vikings held a 10-7 lead over the Carolina Panthers.
Things have basically gone to hell since then, and the worst part might involve the Vikings’ star running back.
Dalvin Cook, while caught up in a scrum, fumbled on a play that resulted in a second straight defensive touchdown for the Panthers to give them a 21-10 lead. After the play, Cook needed to be helped off the field and could not put any weight on his left leg.
Cook has been the straw that stirs the drink for the Minnesota offense this season, as he leads the league with 14 touchdowns and is currently second in the NFL in rushing behind Tennessee’s star running back, Derrick Henry.
