City Of Mpls. To Pay Out $237K In Redskins Bus Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The City of Minneapolis will most likely have to shell out big bucks for a crash involving the Washington Redskins last November.

It happened on the Huron Avenue exit off Interstate 94 as police squads were escorting the team buses to TCF Bank Stadium.

An off-duty officer lost control of his squad, which caused the bus to stop abruptly and the other bus to rear-end it. One Redskins player sat out of the game because of the crash.

An attorney for the city has negotiated a settlement with the bus company and its insurance company for more than $237,000.
